The Captive-Bred ORA® Pearl-Eye Clarkii Clownfish  (Amphiprion clarkii) On very rare occassions, Clarkii Broodstock will produce a small batch of what we call Pearl-Eye Clarkiis. These exquisite fish have Pearly-Blue eye spots that may cover either a portion or all of the superior area of the iris. Even fewer of these beauties show extra markings of white around their head bar.

Clarkii Clownfish are the most widely distributed anemonefish in the world, and show a large range of color variation. They occur from the Caroline Islands in the east, west to the Persian Gulf, north to Southern Japan and south to the New Hebrides.

ORA® is not sure what causes the eye spots, but ORA's® scientists believe it may be caused by a recessive gene that rarely manifests itself. ORA has noticed that these unique spots are produced by both Pearl-Eye Clarkii and regular Clarkii broodstock.

Due to their rarity, this variety of Clarkii is not always available.
